Our services occasionally get moved to different times or locations, for example when we have united services with our friends in Rochford and Hockley. Please check our calendar for more information.
Our Sunday morning services vary from a quite traditional expression of church, to all-age services on the 2nd Sunday of the month. We meet together to sing, read the Bible and listen to a talk – but more than that we meet to worship and encounter God and to grow as a family, getting to know and support one another. Please do come along to one of our services to see what goes on.

We have a creche in the church for little ones to play, as well as junior church on some Sundays.
Last Sunday of the Month, 4-6pm
Messy Church is a different expression of church – and a much messier one than normal! We meet on the last Sunday of each month at 4-6pm and each session has a theme. The first hour is spent in the hall doing craft activities, sometimes including painting or cooking. After this we head into the main part of the church- we sing some songs and have a short, child-friendly talk about our theme. Then we head back to the hall for food!
Messy Church is free, including the activities and food we share together, so do come along.
1st and 3rd Sundays, 11:15am (occasional changes)
Junior church is our version of the traditional ‘Sunday School’. It’s a chance for children to do church in a way more accessible for them, whilst the adults are in the normal service. We often play games, explore a theme, read a bible passage, do craft and talk about how our weeks have been. Junior church is aimed at primary school, but we welcome secondary school children too as we don’t currently have a youth group. Junior church is generally on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month.
1st Tuesday of the Month, 2pm
Memory Worship is aimed at those living with dementia, and their carers, but is open to everyone with or without dementia. It’s a chance to express faith through familiar songs and sayings. The service lasts for around 30 minutes and is followed by craft and coffee. At Rayleigh, we are now introducing a song-a-long after the service for those who want to stay!
Church is about meeting together as believers, going deeper in faith, worshipping God and supporting one another. This can happen throughout the week – not just on a Sunday. From house-groups to prayer to baby and toddler groups, there’s lot going on throughout the week. And, if you’re not quite sure about this whole church thing, why not sign up for an Alpha course to find out what it’s all about?
